Betty Ross Oakley

Betty Ross Oakley, age 80 of Sharpsburg, GA, passed away on July 24, 2024 with her devoted family at her side. Betty accepted Christ early in life and was a member of Mount Sharon C.P.C. in Greenbrier, TN before moving to Georgia and becoming a member of Trinity Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Baptist Church of 122 Franklin Rd., Newnan, GA on August 24, 2024 at 2 PM with visitation beginning at 1 PM. A devoted wife Betty was married to her beloved husband John Oakley for 37 years. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership. Together they created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. Betty retired from the law firm of Stites and Harbison in Nashville, TN in 2009 after a long and highly successful career as an office manager. Betty was a dedicated mother to her two sons, David and Gary Caluger, and a loving stepmother to Troy and Brian Oakley. Her family was her pride and joy and she cherished every moment spent with them. Betty's warmth and wisdom extended beyond her family and professional life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of grace, love and kindness will continue to inspire and guide those fortunate enough to have known her. She is survived by her husband John; her sons David and Gary; her stepsons Troy (Kim) and Brian (Mary). She is also survived by her grandchildren who were her greatest delight Dawson, Jacob, Cory, Kelsey (Brian), Ethan, Rhiannon (Noah), Alan and Cayenne as well as her great grandchildren Ava Grace, Caroline and Cooper. Betty is also survived by her sisters Margie and Debbie and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Victoria, TN she was preceded in death by her parents Asa Gott and Ethel Miller Ross and her brothers Charles, A.G. Jr., Randall Ray, Harry, Ricky and sisters Glenda, Linda, Treva and Carole.
