Betty Jean Presley

Betty Jean Presley, 76, of Newnan, GA, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at St Joseph's/Candler Hospital. She was born August 4, 1946 in Newnan, GA to the late Andrew Sanford and Eunice Irene Robinson Moon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Gerald James Presley; son, Mark Allen Presley; sisters, Kathy Diane Moon, Irene Moon Spradlin and Margie Luvine Moon. Betty Jean was pure unconditional love. She was a kind and gentle person who always made sure everyone was taken care of. She was simple and never asked for much. Spending quality time with friends and family, reminiscing over stories of the past, watching her grandbabies play, movies and TV were some of the things she cherished most. And food! She loved to eat. Like her mama before her, food was one of the ways Betty expressed her love. If she asked, "Are you hungry?", you better just say yes or she'd ask you again and again until she got the answer she was looking for. And that is how so many people remember her. She fed everyone, even when there wasn't much to go around because if her people were fed and happy, she was happy. We may not be able to measure her life with academic accomplishments or corporate titles, but we can measure it in love. The funeral is Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 2:00pm in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA. Visitation is from 12:00pm-2:00pm at the same address.
