Billy Monroe Dancy, Jr.

Billy Monroe Dancy, Jr., 33, of Newnan, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. He was born on July 10, 1990, in Arlington, Virginia, to Lisa and Billy Dancy Sr. Billy was born in northern Virginia, but moved to Newnan at a young age. He was a star athlete in football and baseball. Off the field, he could be found driving ATVs, trucks, or anything else he could find the keys to, often returning home with an empty tank, covered in mud, after curfew, or sometimes all three-much to the detriment of his parents. He was a graduate of Newnan High School and later attended West Central Technical College. Billy obtained his Commercial Driver's License, and his career centered around the paving industry, in the footsteps of his father and brother. He drove dumptrucks for his father's paving business, operated a local asphalt plant, and later ran a sealcoating and parking lot striping operation with his mother. His knowledge and skills in the industry far preceded someone of his age-he was an extraordinary talent. Outside of work, he surrounded himself with friends, family, and his girlfriend Morgan and her children. He never grew out of his love for driving, and was a thrill seeker who chased adrenaline on wheels. Billy brought joy into any room by any means necessary, often impersonating movie or TV characters or singing loud renditions of favorite songs, leaving everyone doubled over crying tears of laughter. He fearlessly lived life on his own terms, seizing the most out of every single day. Billy prioritized those around him, always concerned for everyone else's well-being over his own, possessing a rare kindness that endeared him to so many. He is survived by his parents Bill Dancy and Lisa Kaine of Newnan; grandmother Dian Groff of Blue Springs, Missouri; brother Daniel Dancy of Newnan, sister Shannon Dancy Provost and brother-in-law Benjamin Provost of Athens; niece Zoie Dancy of Newnan, but he will be missed by all who knew him for his kindhearted spirit, contagious laugh, and warm smile.
