Carl W. Corley, Jr.

Carl Wade Corley Jr., age 53, died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife on August 13, 2024 at their home in Carrollton, GA., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Carl was born June 1, 1971 in Newnan, GA., to his late father (Carl Wade Corley Sr.) and mother (Martha Hoagland Corley) of Newnan, Ga. Carl was raised in Newnan and graduated from Newnan High School, class of 89', where he then continued his education at West Georgia Technical College. Carl had a notable career in Water Treatment, until he stepped away with Coweta County Water & Sewer Authority upon his diagnosis of stage 4 cancer. He had a gift and passion for his job. Carl was happily married to his soulmate Sandra Corley of Perkinston, Ms., whom was his partner in life until the time of his death. Carl is survived by his wife, Sandra Corley (Carrollton, GA.) mother, Martha Hoagland Corley (Newnan, GA) sister and brother-in-law, Katie (and Matt) Sims (Newnan, GA) son, Andrew Corley (Newnan, GA) and children through marriage Tamara (and Ty) Harden (Hogansville, Ga) Daniel Coulter (Chicago, IL) Blane Dedeaux (Perkinston, MS) As well as 6 beloved grandchildren; Aubree, Kynlee, Tristen, Tanner, Tayden, and Torynn "his sunshine". He cherished the time spent with, and the love from all of his family. When not spending time with his family and friends, Carl had a love for Golf, fishing, and blackjack. He had a lovable personality and was a wonderful, loving husband, son, brother, father and friend. A very fun filled "PAPA" (he carried that title to the highest standard) who enjoyed conversation with anyone he met. Carl's wishes were to be cremated. Funeral arrangements will be held Friday August 16, 2024, 2:00-4:00p.m. following a chapel service at McKoon Funeral Home at 4:00p.m. located at 38 Jackson Street Newnan GA. Family & friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests in memory of Carl if you would like to make a contribution to his son, Andrew Corley, for college expenses.
