Courtney Alicia Meyers

Ms. Courtney Alicia Meyers, 40, of Newnan, Georgia, formerly of Charleston, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 8, 2025. Courtney was born on June 13, 1985, in Charleston, South Carolina, to Rachel Jenkins and the late Jerry L. Brown. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Fontaine D. Jenkins. Courtney grew up in South Carolina, with saltwater in her veins and a love for all things Lowcountry. She was happiest with a crab net in hand or gathered around a bushel of oysters, swapping stories with family and friends. More than anything, Courtney loved her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children, Tremaine Jr. "TJ" (18), Ty'ler (14), and Tatiyanna (12), and they were the joy and pride of her life. Her love for them was fierce and unconditional. She also held tight to her roots, cherishing the bonds of her large extended family, the wisdom of her grandmothers, and the fellowship of friends who became family over the years. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her three cherished children, Tremaine Jr. "TJ", Ty'ler, and Tatiyanna; her devoted mother, Rachel Jenkins of Newnan, GA; her sister, Sherrell Brown of Newnan, GA; her brother, Arthur "Leroy" Brown(Celia) of Sharpsburg, GA; her sister-in-law, Alison Rhodes Dewitt(Tim) of Donalds, SC; her nieces and nephews; Talia, Nazyr, Della, Marie, Vera, and Arthur. Her dear grandmothers, Claire G. Brown of Charleston, SC, and Leomia Jenkins of Ladson, SC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who will forever treasure her memory. A service to celebrate Courtney's life will be held at Mt. Gilead Methodist Church in Sharpsburg, GA, on August 15th at 3:00pm.
