David Clarke Glover

David Clarke Glover, age 58, died May 2, 2010 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital of complications related to pulmonary disease. David was born December 15, 1951 in Newnan, Georgia and was one of five children born to Mrs. Bobbie Wilson Glover and the late Dr. Nathaniel Banks Glover. His father preceded him in death in 2000. David graduated from Newnan High School in 1969. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Auburn in 1974 and was a member of Kappa Alpha while there. He continued his study in Healthcare Administration at Duke University and received his Master’s there in 1974. For the next 18 years he pursued a career in hospital administration and served Broward General Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Aiken Community Hospital in Aiken, South Carolina; HCA Livingston Community Hospital in Livingston, Tennessee; Northside Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee and North Monroe Hospital in Monroe, Louisiana. During his professional career he was the founding board member of The Johnson City American Heart Association. He also was president of The Rotary Club in Livingston, Tennessee at age 31, a member of Leadership 2000, a member of The American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as other professional accomplishments. David was an avid golfer, pool player, bowler, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling with his family, playing with his girls growing up and more recently enjoyed the role of grandfather to his two grandsons. Surviving David is his wife of 36 years Carol Ann Campbell Glover; his children Jennifer Glover Yaeger and her husband Jonathan and Elizabeth Glover Giles and her husband Jackson Giles III. His mother, Margaret Wilson “Bobbie” Glover also survives him. Life was made more complete by grandchildren Jack Giles IV and Nate Yeager. His siblings are Banks Glover and his wife Carol Jackson Glover, Richard Glover and his wife Debbie Donovan Glover, Jim Glover and his wife Debbie Maslow Glover, Mary Frances Glover Honea and her husband Marc Honea. There is also an extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan. The memorial service will be on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Central Baptist Church in Newnan with Dr. Joel E. Richardson officiating.
