Elaine Walters

Elaine (Wiecek) Walters, 68, of Sharpsburg, GA, formerly of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished nana who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Elaine was born on February 5, 1956 in Syracuse, NY to Francis and Irene Wiecek. She graduated from Central Tech High School. She worked in Syracuse at Dey Brothers warehouse, at APA Partners, and KBM Management. After moving to Sharpsburg, GA she worked for the Atlanta Braves. She was a woman of diverse talents who thrived on staying busy and had a remarkable ability to complete tasks in record time. In 1976, Elaine married William J. Walters. Together, they celebrated 48 cherished years of marriage, had 2 beautiful children, and enjoyed traveling and making memories with family and friends. Family meant everything to Elaine. She consistently went above and beyond to support her loved ones and friends. Elaine found joy in playing Bunco, trying her luck with slot machines, and playing cards. One of her cherished traditions was making pierogies with her family, and she was especially renowned for her delicious apple pies. Her dedication to family and her warm, generous spirit will be remembered fondly. Elaine is survived by her husband, William; her daughters Kimberly (Timothy) Howard and Laura (Luke) Gasowski; 3 grandchildren; her brothers David (Tammy) Wiecek, Robert (Susan) Wiecek, and Daniel (Sharon) Wiecek; and her sister Diane (John) Lesher. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and her granddaughter, Luna Elaine Gasowski. A private celebration of life will be held with family and friends.
