"Our beloved Elida left this earthly life on Thursday, August 7th, 2025, at the age of 58. She faced her battle with cancer with incredible strength, grace, and an unwavering spirit that inspires everyone who knows her. Born in El Salvador, she carries with her the warmth, generosity, and deep family values of her roots, sharing them with every person she meets and every place she calls home. She is a devoted wife to Mohammed Shah for 34 wonderful years, always finding ways big and small to show her love. Whether it is making sure he never wore the same pair of socks twice or thoughtfully cared for those around her, she pours her heart into every relationship. She is the kind of mother who insists on doing her children's laundry herself, not out of duty but because she treasures having them close. To her children, Zaara Shah and Ahsan Shah, she is a constant source of unconditional love, guidance, and comfort. Her happiest moments are spent under the same roof as her family, where she feels most at peace and fulfilled. Even though she did not serve in the Air Force directly, she served every single day through her heart as her son served, giving him strength, encouragement, and the unwavering love that only a mother can give. Elida is beautiful, sweet, funny, and just the right amount of sassy. Her presence lights up any room, her laughter lifts any mood, and her words always seem to be exactly what someone needs to hear. She builds connections that run deep as her coworkers adore her, her friends cherish her, and her family holds her as their greatest blessing. We miss her laughter that can brighten even the darkest days, her care that makes others feel safe, her sass that keeps life lively, and her hugs that feel like home. Though she is no longer physically with us, the love she gives so freely remains in our hearts forever, guiding us and reminding us of the extraordinary woman we are blessed to call ours." The funeral service celebrating Elida's life is Monday, August 11, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 656 Roscoe Road, in Newnan.
