Emersyn Lee Artz

Emersyn Lee Artz, cherished daughter, niece, granddaughter and great granddaughter, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 2, 2014. She now rests in the arms of Jesus. During her far too brief four months on Earth, Emersyn was a gift to her family and deeply touched the lives of many. She was a lovely baby with a beautiful countenance and a happy disposition. She brought immeasurable joy to all who knew her. Heaven's gain is our loss. This loss is well described by the words of Corrie Ten Boom, “The measure of life, after all, is not its duration, but its donation.” Emersyn was born November 5, 2013 to parents Katy Lee Smith and Justin Cody Artz, both of Newnan, GA. She is survived by her maternal grandparents Tammy Williford Smith and Brad and Victoria “Tori” Smith, all of Newnan, and her paternal grandmother, Karen Artz of Newnan. She is also survived by her adoring aunts Hilary Lynne Smith and Alaya Artz of Newnan; her Uncles Owen Smith and Jarrett Artz, also of Newnan; her maternal great grandparents Linda and Jimmy Marchman and Martha and Billy Williford all of Newnan, Lawana Dietrich of Clarence, New York, and Robin Faulkner of Moreland, GA; her paternal great grandparents Lydia Aubley of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and Nancy and Kenneth Artz of New Mexico. Emersyn was loved by many great aunts and uncles, including her great Aunt and Uncle James Marsh and Connie Williford Marsh of Macon, GA; great Aunt and Uncle Tommy and Shannon Molloy of Lincroft, New Jersey; great Uncle and Aunt Brad and Joanna Smith and great Aunt Brenda Smith all of upstate New York. She is survived by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Kim David Artz. Arrangements will be handled by McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan, GA. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 12:00-3:00, followed by the funeral service in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home on Thursday, March 6, at 3:00 p.m. Final interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
