Gail Marie Cadenhead

Gail Lambert Cadenhead of Newnan, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother, sister, aunt, and Gigi. Gail was lively, vivacious, and deeply endearing, with an infectious laugh that brought joy to everyone around her. She grew up in Newnan, GA, and graduated from Newnan High School in 1968. She attended Reinhardt College in Waleska, GA, and went on to earn her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. She cherished every minute of her 34-year teaching career, most of which she spent in Forsyth County. Even after retiring, she continued to support children as a tutor and substitute teacher. Gail loved spending time with her family and friends, taking trips to the beach, reading voraciously, and playing tennis and participating in numerous ALTA teams over the years. A boisterous Georgia Bulldogs fan, she proudly wore red and black each fall to cheer on her team. Over the last 40 years, Gail was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA; St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Simpsonville, SC; and finally, St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan, GA. She found immense joy serving as a lector, reading the Sacred Scriptures at Mass. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Blakely Lambert, Sr. and Bettye Medicus Lambert. She is survived by her husband, Jon Cadenhead ("Doug"); her children, Brad Day and Meredith Wright (husband Andrew); her beloved grandchildren, Caleb Day, Ava Day, Kailyn Wright, and Reese Wright; her sister, Donna Dixon (husband Tom); her brother, John Blakely Lambert, Jr. (wife Kitty); and many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. A funeral mass for Gail will be celebrated at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan, GA, on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to gather in the church lobby at any time between 10:00 am and 11:00 am for visitation.
