Harold Lee Kee

Abraham Lincoln penned the words, “it’s not the years in your life that are important, it’s the life in your years that matter”. Harold Lee Kee was the personification of these wise words. Harold was a person who started out in life under some rather unique circumstances, having been born on the front porch of his parents’ house. His story began on August 13, 1949 as he was the third child born of the late Harvey Clinton and Eva Astalee Jones Kee. While his earthly journey ended last Sunday, April 7th at Emory University Hospital, he embarked on the greatest adventure ever, as he slipped away into eternity. Harold learned to take life on the best terms available and make everything and every opportunity count for something. He always looked forward to an adventure whether it be as simple as a family get together or a carefully planned trip with his traveling buddies Mike and Lee. He relished being at one with nature, and if was a fishing pole or golf club involved, even more so. Harold was very serious, though, when it came to responsibilities as an employee at Delta Airlines and later at Travelliance. Harold took his job as a husband and father as an honor that required his utmost attention. This was very evident as his family endured the loss of his son Harley. It would be a call to their family to reinforce the bonds of love and dedication and face this trial together. Harold was a dedicated and supportive husband to his wife, Nancy Coggin Kee. He felt that it was his responsibility to be an exemplary father to his children Darren C. (and Bridget) Kee and Kristi Kee Johnson. Fortunate, indeed, were the grandchildren he adored, Sydnie Kee, Ava Johnson, Hayes Johnson and Cameron Cook. Harold is also survived by his siblings Charles Kee, Danny Kee and Mattie, Karey Murphy and Johnny. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Connie C. Webb and Marty. There is a large extended family of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and share memories on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. There will be a service to honor and celebrate Harold’s life on Wednesday, April 10th at 2:00 PM in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
