It is with heavy hearts and a spirit of celebration that we announce the passing of Jody Walker Kennedy, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on August 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 66. Jody was born on November 25, 1958, in Griffin, Georgia, and spent her life in devotion to her family and her church Jody's legacy is one of unwavering love and selflessness. She was dedicated to pouring her heart into caring for others. Jody firmly believed in the power of love, and her strength was felt by everyone fortunate enough to know her. A true fighter, she approached life with grace and resilience. Jody's greatest joys were found in the laughter and love of her family. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, Donnie Kennedy, Jr., and was a proud mother to her daughters, Tami (Todd) Garmany and Tina (Chris) Mashburn, and her son, Joey (Amanda) Scott. Her grandchildren-Alexis (Jacob) Moore, Austin (Alyssa) Garmany, Wesley Scott, Hunter Mashburn, Nathan Scott, Jacob Garmany, and Abby Scott-and her great-granddaughter, Lyla Grace Moore, brought her immeasurable joy. Her love extended to her brothers, Prince Walker, Stan (Mary) Bunn, and Chris (Tanya) Bunn, with whom she shared countless cherished memories; as well as her mother-in-law, Kathleen A. Parete; sister-in-law, Christina (Thomas) Williamson; and many nieces and nephews. Jody is preceded in death by her parents, Joe Walker and Fran Bunn; brother Donnie Walker; and Stepfather Don Bunn. A celebration of life will be held to honor Jody's vibrant spirit on August 15, 2025, at the McKoon Funeral Home Chapel. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for visitation starting at 3:00 PM. The service will officially begin at 4:00 PM, with Pastor Rodney Roquemore officiating, where we will gather to rejoice in her life and share fond memories. As we celebrate the remarkable life of Jody Walker Kennedy, let us remember her immense capacity for love, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit.
