Melissa Ann Nichols

Melissa Ann Nichols,age 49, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2020. Melissa was born in Houston, Texas on September 10, 1970 to her parents Elizabeth and Felix Rabago. Melissa was the youngest of 3 children and she leaves behind her sister Jennifer Lynn Rabago and her brother Felix Edward Rabago. Melissa Ann Rabago met her best friend and her beloved husband Brian Allan Nichols when she was 16 years old in Demming, New Mexico in 1987. Melissa and Brian married each other on December 7, 1990. They had two beautiful daughters, Britanny Brianna Nichols and Alyssa Marie Nichols. Melissa was a kind and loving person. She was beautiful on the inside and outside. She loved helping people and had a huge heart. She loved to read the Bible and live by the word of God. She had a very God-like spirit. Melissa loved spending time with her family, Brian, Britanny, Alyssa, and Brooklynn. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her 8-year-old granddaughter, Brooklynn Skye. Brooklynn meant the world to Melissa. They had a strong bond and Melissa always told Brooklynn, “No matter what I will always be here in your heart.” Melissa is survived by her devoted husband, Brain Nichols; her two daughters, Britanny Nichols and Alyssa Nichols; her granddaughter, Brooklynn Nichols; her mother and step-father, Elizabeth and Donald Linnell; her grandmother Maria Gonzalez; her sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jamie Price; her brother, Felix Edward Rabago; her niece and nephews, Nicole Keaton and Zachary Miller; her father and step-mother, Felix and Susie Rabago; her step-sisters and step-brother, Jennifer Chastain, Kathy Dunn, and Frank Baird; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carlene and Mongin Smyly; her sister-in-law Michelle Lucas, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many extended family members. The funeral service celebrating the life Melissa lived is Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan with Pastor Alan Matura officiating.
