Noel William McDaniel Sept. 28, 1937 to Nov. 21, 2011 Noel, Daddy, Husband, Father, Granddaddy, Hero, and Best Friend is who he was! Daddy has always been, and will always be my HERO!! Daddy was born in Andalusia, Alabama on September 28, 1937 to William A. & Doris B. McDaniel. Daddy learned from a young age what "Work Ethic" was, working in the field with his Grandfather helping around the farm, and the cotton fields. Daddy graduated from Andulusia High School, in Alabama in 1955. Daddy went to Andrew College in Georgia, the following summer. Daddy attended Andrew College for one year, and then transferred to Alabama Poly Technic for "Structural Engineering". This college is known as Auburn University today. After which Daddy began working with Granddaddy in "General Construction" with S.J. Curry & Co. General Contractors. Daddy learned the "how-to's" from Granddaddy working to build hospitals, water treatment plants, schools, churches, along with some US Military buildings. Daddy moved to Newnan, Georgia in 1960. Daddy and Granddaddy were building a new local hospital, Coweta General, and in May of 1960, Daddy meet Mama, (Sarah) who he married that same year. Daddy finished that job, and was working in Warm Springs driving back and forth every evening to be with Mama in Newnan. In 1970, Daddy & Mama moved to Athens, Georgia where Daddy was working on the Georgia University expansion. Daddy & Mama contacted an adoption agency looking for a son. On August 12, 1970, the day after I was born ( Michael ). Daddy & Mama received a call that they had three baby boys for adoption. Daddy & Mama went to Clarke County Hospital where I was adopted. Daddy, Mama & Me moved to Destin, Florida in 1972 where Daddy became a Superintendent for his first construction job. We moved together to almost all of Daddy's jobs, and Daddy retired from Alcon Assoc. Construction as the Vice President in August of 2001. Daddy supervised the building, or expansion of over 100 buildings in his 50 year plus construction career as a Construction Superintendent. Daddy's attention to detail has been evident in his work due to numerous request by name, for additional buildings to be built. Daddy's hobbies were Deep Sea Fishing, and working to restore Antique Cars. Daddy has always been there for Mama, and Me, from rubbing my knees as a child, to throwing the baseball in the front yard, to watching me play football. Daddy always provided comfort when we needed someone to talk to, and Daddy was always a "Family Man", he has always put his family first, going without to make sure Mama & Me had what we needed. Daddy is survived by his wife Sarah, son Michael, and two Granddaughters Courtney & Leighann. A very dear aunt, that Daddy Loved, Aunt Eunice. Daddy has one sister Carolyn.
