Richard Fuller Snow

Richard Fuller Snow,79 of Sharpsburg, GA , formerly of Vicksburg, MS passed away Monday, September 9,2024 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. He was born on October 26, 1944 in Syracuse, NY to the late Robert Snow and Ruth Tripp Snow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Phillip Snow. Richard grew up in Manlius, NY and graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius Central School in 1963 and went on to earn his degree from the University of Syracuse in 1968. He served in the National Guard in Detroit, MI. He had a distinguished career, working with renowned companies such as Ford Motor Company, Cooper Lighting, Kirlin Lighting, and Eaton Lighting. Richard was a proud member of the Illuminating Engineering Society and held the NCQLP Lighting Certification. His contributions included serving on the Museum and Gallery Lighting Committee and participating in various professional organizations that shaped the lighting industry. An avid outdoorsman, Richard enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, camping, and woodworking. He found great joy in grilling and loved nothing more than spending time at home building decks. Richard was also a fan of tennis, football, and snow skiing, dedicating many weekends to his favorite pastimes. He had a soft spot for the music of Simon and Garfunkel, often found humming their tunes while watching his favorite shows on The History Channel and Dateline. A spirited cheerleader during his college years at the University of Syracuse, Richard retained his lively spirit throughout his life. His favorite place in the world was the beach, where he often found solace and enjoyment. Richard is remembered for his warmth, creativity, and the passion he brought to both his personal and professional life. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication and love that will be cherished by all who knew him. Richard is survived by his wife of 30 years, Janie Henderson Snow, his stepson Randall Huff, his 2 sons: Christopher Snow(FT Worth, TX) and Bryan Snow(Lafayette, LA). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren. The family is planning a service of celebration at a later date, and the obituary will have updated arrangements once they have been finalized.
