R. V. Greene

R. V. Dooley Greene of Senoia, GA, age 92, died Monday June 16, 2008 at her residence. She was born January 17, 1916 in Haralson County, GA a daughter of the late Essie Evangaline Davis Dooley and William Franklin Dooley. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Elmer Greene, in 2002. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughter Nancy Greene Roy and her husband William Foster Roy, Jr. of Senoia; foster son/brother Boyce Rupert Dooley and wife Gail Wike Dooley of Trion, GA . She is also survived by her brother, Emmitt Dooley and wife Mary Broome Dooley of Summerville GA. Her grandchildren are David Boyce Dooley, Warner Robbins, GA, Denise Dooley Tillman, Rome, GA. Her step-grandchilren are Dawn Roy Miller and husband Wendell of Katy, TX and Melissa Roy Shiramizu and husband David of Georgetown TX. Great grandchildren are Rachel and Bonnie Grace Tillman, Rome, GA, Lauren and Jordon Miller, Katy, TX; Claire and Jonah Shiramize, Georgetown, TX. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Ruby Greene Richardson of Summerville, GA, Louise Wilson Dooley, Canton, NC, Mollie Archer Greene, Gaylesville, AL and Gay Samples Greene, Cleveland, TN. Her brothers-in-law include Robert J. Greene and wife Evelyn, Summerville, GA, Fred Greene and wife Sarah, Woodstock, GA and Dan Greene and wife, Melissa, Griffin GA. Also counted in her extended family are her nieces and nephews along with her special caregivers Mary Marshall, Carolyn Alexander, Liz Alexander, Dan Smith, Kris Farmer and Dianne Ledbetter. Mrs. Greene spent her life giving and helping others. The most important things in her life were her faith in God and her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, special aunt to many, and excellent cook, seamstress and gardener. She was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Senoia. Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street in Newnan where the family will receive friends on Tuesday evening between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the McKoon Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Phil Bevel officiating. Interment will be in the Senoia City Cemetery.
