Sara Montanez Findley

Sara Montañez Findley, 73, of Newnan, GA, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at Grady Hospital in Atlanta. She was born January 24, 1951 in Panama (city) in the Republic of Panama to the late Emiliano Montañez and Esperanza Cortes Montañez. She was preceded in death by her parents. A woman of extraordinary warmth and character, Sara dedicated over 30 years to serving her community through Fulton County Public Works and the Fulton County Library system, as well as the City of Atlanta Department of Planning where she found joy in helping others. Sara had a personality that lit up every room. Her friends describe her as a great and fun person, always upbeat and full of life. She had a beautiful spirit and the rare ability to make a new friend anywhere. Sara was fierce, funny, loyal, and giving. Her sense of humor and joyful nature made her a delight to be around. In retirement, Sara embraced her love of travel, enjoying cruises, beach trips, and adventures with her close friends. At home, she found peace and happiness in gardening, tending to her flowers, and listening to music-especially the songs of Elvis Presley. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Sara's unique and vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 2:00pm at Lillian Gardens, 83 Greenville St S., Newnan, GA. Sara was blessed to be the recipient of an organ transplant.
