Scott Richard Beck

Scott Richard Beck, 60 of Sharpsburg, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 3, 1963, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Alvin Beck and Susan Rosenzweig Beck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jill Holland. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Mary Beck; children, Michael (Emily) Beck of Charleston, IL, Christine (Andrew) Crowley of Newnan; sister, Sharon McGuigan, twin sister, Diane Beck; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Scott was proudly patriotic and attributed some of his patriotism to being born the day before July 4. He was a fanatic about Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies. Scott was proud to be in attendance when the Phillies won the 1980 World Series. On his first day of college at Clarion University of PA, he met Mary Lacher and instantly said that she was the girl he was going to marry. After graduating from Clarion University with a B.S. in Business Administration, Management, and Marketing, he began his first job with K-Mart Corporation. He later obtained his Master of Science degree in human resources from the University of Maryland. At the time of his death, Scott was the Director of Human Resources with SANY America, Inc. where he also arranged many community service activities for SANY, working with Bloom Our Youth, Midwest Food Bank, and Habitat for Humanity. In Tennessee, Scott was also a presenter for Jr. Achievement and the Chamber of Commerce Leadership of Cleveland. Most of all, he was dedicated to others and always put their needs before his own. Scott's faith was very important and was evidenced by his involvement in the parishes in the cities where he resided. Before moving to Georgia in 2016, Scott and his family were members of St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic church in Cleveland, TN. He served in many roles there including serving on the Parish Council, Welcoming Committee, and presiding over the Seder meal. The Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2024, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Terry officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City. The Rosary is Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at McKoon Funeral Home.
