Sharon Ann Twyman

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Twyman on Saturday morning, January 11, 2025, in Fayetteville, Georgia. She was 85 years old. Sharon was born on June 3, 1939, in Delco, Idaho. At just two years old, she moved with her family to Southern California, where she would later raise her five children. It was there that she met the love of her life, Vern Twyman. Sharon and Vern shared a 40-year partnership, with 38 of those years spent as devoted husband and wife. They enjoyed a beautiful life together. A dedicated professional, Sharon worked as a Senior Systems Analyst for Rockwell Aviation Services from 1962 to 1992, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues throughout her career. In retirement, she pursued her creative passions, enjoying a bit of painting and crafting beautiful silk floral arrangements. Sharon was also well-known for her famous Christmas fudge, a sweet tradition she shared with her family each holiday season. Sharon found immense joy in spending time with her family and her beloved pets. Over the years, she developed a deep affection for her dachshunds-Max, Barney, Fred, and Ellie-but it was Max who held a special place in her heart as her loyal companion. After many years in California, Sharon and her beloved husband, Vern, made the move to Georgia in 2009, where they enjoyed their life together until the end. Friends and family knew Sharon was a woman of warmth, kindness, and generosity, whose love for her family was immeasurable. Sharon's presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her most. Sharon is survived by her five children: Terry Porter, Mike Behning (Edie), David Behning (Tina), Greg Behning (Veronica), and Lisa Wolgast (John), as well as her two stepchildren: Vernon Twyman Jr. (Sonna), Eric Twyman (Tammy), and her 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne Bonham and Elise Murillo, her husband, Vern Twyman, as well as her stepdaughter, Sherryl Matos (Miguel), and stepson, Rodney Twyman. A service to celebrate Sharon's life will be held at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, Georgia on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM.
