Jeffery Stephen Comer

Mr. Jeffrey Stephen Comer, age 66, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Born in Meridian, Mississippi, on February 4, 1958, Jeff was the beloved son of Boyd Bruner Comer and the late Erin Sue Comer. Jeff's legacy lives on through his loving wife, Darlene Molly Gaston Comer; his children, Brooke Comer of Raleigh, NC; Kristin Huddleston (Jon Wesley) of Carrollton, GA; Katie Comer (Tyler) of Atlanta, GA; Hope Eckel (Howard) of Senoia, GA; Caleb Baumgarten (Taylor) of Tuscaloosa, AL; and Jordan Baumgarten (Macy) of Tuscaloosa, AL; along with his 11 treasured grandchildren, Kyndal Eckel, Noah Eckel, Chayse Baumgarten, Julia Huddleston, Maddie Baumgarten, Legend Baumgarten, Kate Huddleston, Charleigh Baumgarten, Silas Baumgarten, George Ashley, and Titus Baumgarten. Jeff is also survived by his brothers, Ken Comer (Suzanne), Brad Comer (Natalie), Mark Comer (Melinda), Chris Comer, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff, a proud graduate of Butler High School in Huntsville, AL, embarked on a career as a sales representative with Nabisco/Kraft Foods. However, his true calling was found in service, leading him to the Georgia Baptist Children's Home in Palmetto and the Coweta and Meriwether County Schools. Here, he dedicated his time to mentoring and supporting countless young lives, a testament to his unwavering commitment to his community. Guided by his unshakable faith and devotion to Christ, Jeff found purpose in serving others and spreading joy as a member of the Community Christian Church. Jeff's impact extended beyond his career. He was a deeply loved husband, an inspiring father, and a mentor to many. His role as a coach was not just about winning games, but about instilling values and shaping character. His unwavering kindness and strength touched all who knew him, leaving a lasting impression on the lives he touched. Arrangements are under the care of McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan, GA. Services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm EST at Community Christian Church (1717 GA-154; Sharpsburg, GA 30277), with the family receiving friends from 12:00 pm until the service hour.
