Eric Edward Edge

Eric Edge, beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016. He is surely "walking" with the angels in heaven. Eric endured pain and many obstacles the past 10 months from a heart attack, hip replacement, and cancer. Eric was born February 26, 1962 to his beloved parents, Frauline and E.C. Edge. He was preceded in death by his father, E.C. Edge, and his brother, Chris Byram. He is survived by his mother, Frauline Edge, sisters, Rita Byram Gresham(Larry), and Holli Justiss(Ted), nieces, Kandi Prowant(Delmar), Kim Mcdonald(Mike), Morgan Justiss, and nephews, Tyler Justiss, Austin Prowant, Mitchell Prowant, Kyle McDonald and Matthew McDonald as well as a world of loving cousins and friends. Eric graduated from Newnan High School, was president of his class, and then attended the University of Georgia. He was the most true and avid Dawg Fan. Go Dawgs. He was a realtor for many years and maintained great relationships from those he loved and respected in the business. He was also in the Gold and Pawn Shop business where he had many loyal customers and associates. In his last days, he was surrounded by his family and tons of friends. Eric shared with them his life, his quest, and about being prepared for heaven. Here are some words Eric left us with, "Do not shed many tears for me. I just wanted to walk. I did not plan on the big C. I did not understand Why? There must be a reason. I always have taken the good with the bad. I will walk with God and his many angels someday. I love my family, special friends, and I will miss you all. Enjoy life, have Faith in God, and we will meet again." Thanks to all who have helped, prayed and laughed during his illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home 38 Jackson St. Newnan, GA with Pastor Tim Cash officiating.
